Founded 2003

Artistic Director, Alysia Ramos

Mezclado Movement Group celebrates our collective human heritage through dances, rhythms and stories from around the globe. In 2003, the Mezclado Movement Group was founded by choreographer Alysia Ramos and a group of six dancers from the Mambo/Ballroom, Afro-Cuban, West African and Hip Hop traditions. The inaugural year was dedicated to creating a ‘world dance’ vocabulary unique to New York City.

Mezclado’s vision is to create a nomadic “home” where world dance pioneers will come together to dialogue, participate in cultural exchanges and establish partnerships.
